Judy Huang, LMFT
clinical supervisor | MFC #114481
As a Taiwanese American licensed marriage and family therapist, Brainspotting practitioner, and clinical supervisor based in Los Angeles and Pasadena, California, I bring over 9 years of experience working in child and family clinics, schools, adult outpatient centers, and private practice. My clinical experience includes working with diverse children, families, adults, and couples from different socioeconomic, racial, ethnic, religious, education, gender, and spiritual backgrounds. These experiences have taken place in a variety of settings, including outpatient centers, in-home care, K-12 schools, and online teletherapy. This is my second career as a former consultant in the finance industry, and I bring this part of my experience whenever relevant into my work with clients.
I currently focus my clinical work with adult professionals in the creative industry, leaders in advocacy work, entrepreneurs in startups, executives, people in the helping profession, mothers, couples, and Asian Americans navigating their racial, ethnic, sexual, professional, and spiritual identity.
I consider it a privilege to partake in this journey of life and growth with my clients. I find myself drawn to working with folx seeking growth and holistic healing from wounds from a difficult family of origin, institutionalized religion, racial discrimination, and other systems that perpetuate trauma. As a Taiwanese American, I have a special interest in walking with other Asian Americans working through their racial and ethnic identity. I actively strive to be anti-racist, trauma-informed, culturally affirming, and social justice-oriented. I continue to do my own work by being in therapy myself, actively being aware of my privileges as I bring my whole self into the therapy room.

My Approach
Mindful

Integrative
I am a level II trained Restoration Therapist, which I utilize with individuals and couples to help identify underlying patterns of interaction that lead to familiar fights and difficulty resolving arguments. I also pull from other attachment and psychodynamic theories, while utilizing key interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) with a focus on mindfulness to manage symptoms. I also integrate a somatic-based approach called Brainspotting to help you utilize the relationship between your brain and body to help you process your experiences deeply and heal.
THERAPIST-CLIENT FIT IS IMPORTANT TO THE THERAPY EXPERIENCE
I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to determine if we might be a good fit to work together. It takes courage to reach out for support. I consider it a privilege to journey alongside you toward your healing and wellness that empowers you to live out your most authentic life.
