Hatty J. Lee, LMFT

Founder & clinical Director | MFC #83772

As an Asian American / Korean licensed marriage and family therapist and brainspotting practitioner based in Los Angeles & Pasadena, California, I bring 14 years of experience working in child and family clinics, schools, adult outpatient centers, and private practice. I am a clinical supervisor, director for the oak and stone team, and author of The Indwell Guide that integrates visual storytelling, mental health education, and practical tools to support people to heal and thrive.

I currently focus my clinical work with adult professionals in the creative and entertainment industry, public figures & leaders in advocacy work creating change in their corner of the world, entrepreneurs in the startup world and small businesses, corporate executives, people in the helping profession, mothers suffering from postpartum depression/anxiety, couples, adult children navigating their relationship with their immigrant family, highly sensitive people (HSP), and Asian Americans navigating their racial, ethnic, sexual, professional, and spiritual identity. I enjoy working with you who are ready to invest in yourself and put in the work so that you can build a life that is nourishing and vibrant with deep relationships and meaningful work.

I bring my whole self into my therapeutic work. I identify as an intuitive feeler (INFJ) with a high value for creativity, safety, integrity, new experiences that promote change, and relational depth in therapy. My lived experience as a child of Korean immigrants, a married cis woman with two elementary school-aged children, a partner to an entrepreneur & investor, a working mother and entrepreneur in the wellness space, a person of faith, and a healer who is committed to my inner work impact the way I support my clients in the therapeutic relationship. I understand the nuances and challenges of navigating relationships in immigrant families, experiencing invisibility and microaggressions as an Asian American, leadership and the stressors of work/life balance in entrepreneurship, being in the helping profession, relationships in different stages of dating, engagement, marriage, parenting, and beyond, creative and performance blocks, and balancing the responsibility of caretaking and pursuing my dreams. I am actively committed to my inner work by being part of a nourishing community of friendships, mentors, & colleagues, resting without guilt, cultivating a vibrant life beyond my work, leaning into my creativity, innovating to create change in the wellness world, breaking intergenerational trauma through my marriage, parenting, and leadership, and most importantly being in therapy myself as I am acutely aware of the reality that my work impacts the way I will support you with yours.

My approach is rooted in contextual family systems theory, exploring how upbringing, early relationships, and the larger systems in society impact our complex identities as individuals, couples, and families. My clients often provide me with feedback that I bring a warm but directive approach, guiding my clients to have honest conversations with the many versions of themselves and their loved ones that can change what is at the root of their concerns. I use my intuition and clinical experience to help you name your underlying emotions and uncover the patterns of your unhelpful beliefs and how you relate with people. We’ll work together to identify your needs clearly and learn to practically respond to them in meaningful ways so that you can experience yourself whole, grounded, and connected. I have found that balancing both big-picture perspectives with practical tools and problem-solving helps you make micro steps toward change. Alongside our experiential talk therapy, I integrate the latest neuroscience research to help you learn about your autonomic nervous system and make lasting neurological changes in the brain through a somatic-based therapy model called Brainspotting, which uses brain science, eye position, and intentional focus to help process your emotions deeply, heal trauma and support you to fully embody yourself.
