Elizabeth Rhee, LMFT

clinical supervisor | MFC #122155

As an Asian American licensed marriage and family therapist, registered art therapist, and certified brainspotting practitioner based in Los Angeles and Pasadena, California in my 9th year of practice, my clinical experience includes working with various communities of color and marginalized folx in child and family clinics, intensive care settings, outpatient centers, and private practice. I utilize psychosomatic and creative oriented processes to support my clients to create change within themselves, their relationships, and their experiences within circumstances out of their control. I enjoy supporting any of you who hope to feel more fulfilled in who you are, experience deeper connection in your relationships, and fully live out the life you envision for yourself.

I currently focus my clinical work with adult professionals in the creative, entertainment, finance, and tech industries, entrepreneurs, healthcare and mental health professionals, empaths and highly sensitive people (HSP) navigating loss of identity, challenging and complex family dynamics, relationship difficulties with loved ones, burnout from a high stress job, a devastating loss, challenges with dating, and singlehood.

I hold space for my clients, as one human being to another, to embrace all the different parts of your complex identity and unique path of life. I commit to continuing my own personal work in therapy to embrace the many identities I embody as a cis hetero woman, Korean-American child of immigrant parents, healer, empath, sister, friend, partner, creative, and person of faith. I strive to be anti-racist, culturally affirming, social justice-oriented, and trauma-informed in my approach, being up to date with the latest findings and training.

I work from a trauma-informed, family systems, depth-oriented approach that informs the way I will hold your unique complexity, family of origin dynamics, and the other systems you exist within. I will support you to foster insight into how your experiences have informed your current sense of self and learn new ways of moving through your pain so that you can live in alignment with your authentic identity and cultivate meaningful relationships. I also utilize a psychosomatic approach to help you integrate the understanding of the connection between your brain and body that has informed your lived experience, who you are, and where you are today. I integrate a brain and body based process called Brainspotting to support deep processing in order to heal trauma and make lasting neurological changes. When clinically appropriate, I also offer the option to integrate art therapy directives into my session to support those who would benefit from nonverbal methods.

Therapist-client fit is important to the therapy experience

I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to determine if we might be a good fit to work together. It takes courage to reach out for support. I consider it a privilege to journey alongside you toward your healing and wellness that empowers you to live out your most authentic life.
