Surrogate Spouse, Surrogate Savior, Part 1

I am so excited to share with you Part 1 of my interview with Roy, Kim, LMFT who is a marriage and a family therapist in Los Angeles, California. I am so honored to be invited as a guest to talk with Roy about a topic that resonates so deeply with me, my clients, and my community. In this episode, we talk about what it looks like being a parentified child, a surrogate spouse, or surrogate savior, and touch on the experiences that so many of us can relate with especially within the immigrant community. We also discuss the impact that these experiences can have on us and our relationships. We start touching on ways we can respond if we find ourselves resonating with being parentified, as we prepare for Part 2 of this topic. I would love to hear your feedback about this interview in the comments below or on my professional instagram page @hattyjlee.
